I already have lime-wire but i cant play the movies that i download so maybe if i could even get help with that. No matter how many codecs i have none of the players i have will play the movies?

Use torrents instead of limewire. Limewire is pretty lame comparatively once you get used to using torrents.
First download bittorrent (bittorrent.com) or utorrent (utorrent.com) client software,
Search for files on torrentz.com,
Open the torrdownload movies with no membershipent file with your client software and the file will be downloaded.

Dont know if there re still around but u candownload movies with no membership check em out 4 starters. Another way is to google the name of the movie alongside torrent or rapidshare. Eg: (twilight rapidshare or G.I Joe torrent).
Probably because it's not a movie file. It's likely malware. Limewire's network is utterly saturated with it. Run some antivirus and look up bittorrent.
Why don't you try to play those movie files with VLC Media player?
It's generally able to play most files.
