michael jackson spokespersonWhy did Michael Jackson stay as a spokesperson for Pepsi after the hair accident?

The hair accident happened in 1984 and I saw a Pepsi commercial with him from 1987. So why did he stay with Pepsi? I heard that they gave him a settlement. If I was him I would have quit Pepsi and gone to Coca Cola! lol.
haha. Yeah i dont' like pepsi either has a funny after taste prefer coke instead.. I saw a interview on that They said MJ never wanted to take part in this commercial but the brothers wanted him to as they were all going on tour and this was a promo .. His mother then asked michael to please do this. He did win some money from being burnt and in the interview they said he gave it all away to a charity. Just like MJ :-)
Funny how people make up there own scenerioes I was just reading what others put.. See how rumors can start everyone's a sherlock holmes. I got my information from watching the news. Not that the news is always right either. haha. cheers

I was disheartened that he was at Pepsi in the first place, since I've always hated Pepsi and loved Coke. So I just ignored it. Pepsi was only trying to pump up their image by hiring AMichael because he was the hottest sinmichael jackson spokespersonging sensation of the time and they had been having a lot of trouble...people finding syringes in the cans of Pepsi, having a contest and ripping off the winner (they had actually had a contest where the prize was a military helicopter and people had to save up caps for points and some kid one and they tried to tell the kid it was a joke because they didn't think anyone would actually collect that many caps. the boy had to sue them for the prize he won and they had to pay them the equivalent of that helicopter that they had no right to put up as a prize in the first place and they damned near went broke, the idiots) But you've got to realize that Pepsi weren't the ones anyway that burned him. It was the production company that they had hired to film the commercial. THEY were the ones who paid off Michael, so Michael probably didn't even think anything about it.
Because what happened to Michael in 1984 wasn't Pepi's fault. Michael was burned because the explosion went off too early. So, It was the fault of the technician that set the explosion off too early. I mean, Pepsi has done some pretty messed up stuff in the past, but they cmichael jackson spokespersonan't be blamed for what happened on the set of that commercial.
Pepsi did it on purpose, Pepsi is evil!!!!! (OK, I'm exaggerating) I'm a Michael Jackson lover, and a Coca-Cola lover. The confusion and contradiction I feel....... RIP MJ
BTW. There is an episode from Tales From the Darkside, where Demon Wrestlers come out of a Pepsi Machine!!!!
He is not the suing type. He created the Michael Jackson Burn Center and gave the 1.5 million he got fro Pepsi to his Burn Center. Look on Wikipedia.

And aren't Pepsi&&Coca Cola like the same??
Well he had a contract & though he could have probably got out of it easily because of what happened, it was an accident in the end & Michael's a forgiving person
He wasn't angry with them. It was a terrible accident and their insurance co. paid him $1,000,000. He then honorably continued on with his contract.
It's not like Pepsi purposely burned him. I'm sure Michael knew that, secondly he made millions of dollars off of that campaign.
$He stayed for the Money$ I know I would have
